Forest Peoples Programme website
Raygun were invited to work on the modernisation and re-structuring of the FPP website. The previous website was dated and it was hard for FPP to promote the work they were doing in an engaging way, which in turn made it difficult for users to find the most recent and relevant information.
We mapped out the content structure of the website, this gave us clear indications where there was inconsistency in the content hierarchy, ineffective pages that had little or no content and where the taxonomy structure could be improved.
Following this work we undertook some user testing to find out how users navigated to the content they were looking for and what issues they encountered on the journey. We then provided interactive wireframes and prototypes suggesting different solutions for the user to complete their goals quickly and more effectively.
Working in collaboration with the communications team we provided a style guideline and design visuals for the main pages of the website.
The site restructuring was well received by internal staff and users. The faceted search gave users an improved way to find the content they were looking for easily and quickly. The site continues to perform well and provides a more engaging environment, highlighting the most current and important work of FPP.
